NH Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

We stayed at the hotel after 5 nights in Rome as a stopping point before our flight back the following day back to Portland, Oregon. The room was nice, the shower was large which was a nice after a staying at hotel with a smaller shower. The room was clean, the coffee maker and little amenties were nice to have after a long day of travel. The breakfast-no comparison. Full buffet, a cook making eggs/omlettes to order. A person could not ask for more. At check in the a booking is made for your preferred time for the shuttle back to the airport, which was prompt-we were not so much :)

Our stay was unplanned due to flight delays so we chose this hotel as it was minutes away from the airport and the hotel supplied a free shuttle service. After an extremely stressful and long day, we arrived at the hotel to be greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. All the staff we encountered were all professional and friendly. A smile goes a long way so thank you! Our room was average sized, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The cooling system was very effective and you were able to control the temperature. Great hotel close to the airport The Greenhouse Restaurant was a joy to sit and eat in. Plants hanging everywhere in a glass structure. Breakfast also was exceptional offering fresh fruits, cereals, pastries and hot foods.

The hotel is close to the airport, but you need a transport for the transfer. Fortunately the hotel provides 24/7 free shuttle service. The staff is friendly and always helpful. The price is lower than downtown Amsterdam. There is a bus stop (De Hoek) nearby that connects the hotel with central Amsterdam via bus 397

I arrived with my wife and 8yr old son at the hotel about 6 hours early for check-in, and extremely tired after a long-haul flight...expecting to have to beg to get our room and maybe be turned away. The receptionist, Floor, was like a dream...calm and pleasant and completely professional, she found us a room, checked us in, took payment (debit card was fine), booked us onto a free shuttle back to the airport the next day..all in about 5 mins. Along with a complimentary coffee.. The shower was amazing, the room was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, and everything was great. Spring water and nespressos in the room. We woke up and went downstairs to have some food. Lunch menu was great and prepared quickly...and the omelet, burger and Caesar salad were great. About 3 mins walk (past a mcdonalds) gets you to a bus stop for the 397 up on an overpass, which takes you to the city in about 25mins, but we could also have taken the free shuttle to Schipol and train to Centraal from there. Dinner was less amazing and the restaurant staff were nice but made a few blunders. The manager was great and comp'd me my drinks for some minor errors so it was basically redeemed. The smoked salmon starter was ok (great salmon but stale popadum and not enough samphire), the bavette steak was very small but not bad..closer to medium rare than medium. Overall the high quality of service, comfort and the calmness that we were dealt with far negated one or two errors in the restaurant, and the flavors were still good, so i am still giving these guys a top score. We are definitely coming back here again, and I'd be willing to bet that we will have an equally good stay, Thanks NH team, see you again soon ;)
